ちなみにtwitterの中の人たちとか、ヘビーにつかってる人のtumblrについての理解度はものすごく低く、僕がtwitterとtumblrを引き合いにだす時点で、なにあんなんとくらべちゃってんの、と奇妙な空気が少し流れ、クリエイティブにネットを次の時代に進めたという点では、tumblrの 方が上をいってる。といった感想をのべると、ちょっと危険な空気が流れる。twitterは魅力的なプラットフォームだが、tumblrは天才的なホームレスだ、とかいって１４０文字に収まるような惑わしの一文で締めたりする。

ちなみにこの二つの比較を僕はtwitterはビートルズ的、tumblrはベルベットアンダーグラウンド的だと表現して、ルーリードの回顧的なインタビューを紹介することが多い。ルーリード曰く

「VUのCDの売上は世界中で５０万枚程度にすぎないが、聞いた全員がバンドをはじめた」

だそうだ。かっこいい。５０万枚って数字はちょっと正確なとこ覚えてない。もっとすくないかも。で、この比喩を出しても、ベルベッツをしらない人はいっぱいいて、通じやしねえ、っていうのもまたオツなところ。
